FLASH

Meet Flash

Flash is looking for his new forever home! Come meet this great guy!

Stella - rescue dog adoption in CT.

Flash

Flash wants to be your new BFF!

Flash is an Aussie
and is about 3 years old.

He is now down to 60lbs!!!

Flash is in need of a new foster home or even better, his forever home!

Flash will be neutered soon.

UPDATE 3/12/26:

House-training: Completely housebroken.
Dogs: Has met 12 dogs, only disliked an in-tact male large breed herding dog, the rest he was neutral with. He enjoys playing chase with his corgi housemate in his foster home.
Cats: met a couple kittens through a cage in a pet store, was more interested in their food bowl than them.
Food drive: He is VERY food motivated! He came into rescue at 80 lbs, with diet & exercise he’s down to 63 lbs, but likely needs to lose another 5-10 lbs.
Toy drive: When he’s comfortable in an environment he LOVES to play tug, fetch, & keep-away with toys!
Training: He’s been fostered with a positive reinforcement based trainer. You can check out his training videos/pics on C 2 Dog Training Facebook & Instagram pages.
Travel: He loves to go out on walks & hikes. He rides in travel dog crates in the car.
Grooming/Vet Care: He is nervous with unfamiliar people handling him for this type of care, but is progressing nicely with Cooperative Care Training and has no issue having a basket muzzle put on if needed.
Prey drive: Haven’t noticed him seeking out any wildlife when in the yard or on hikes, but haven’t had any close encounters with wildlife so far.
Strangers: Attaches to his caretaker quickly, ignores unfamiliar people but warms up very quickly if strangers give him a couple treats; then he solicits petting (he enjoys a good belly rub or butt scratch). Has met 2 older kids and enjoyed playing with them, but would likely try to herd small running children. Does not like unfamiliar people grabbing his collar.
Behavior: Working through some separation anxiety. No destructive behavior but can be vocal when denied access to his caretaker.
Flash came to us very overweight. He is on a diet plan and has lost 12 lbs since coming to foster care with Carol and will soon be scheduled for his neuter.
He is mostly dog neutral but may be best as the only dog. He has not been cat tested.
Flash knows the cues come, sit, down, paws-up, place, paw (shake), & wait. Doing well progressing with cooperative care training.
Flash has separation anxiety and is not a fan of crates but is fully housebroken.

Flash LOVES going for walks. He can walk through public pet friendly stores confidently.

He doesn’t approach strangers without encouragement, but will take treats from strangers. He then warms up quickly once treats are given and will ask for belly rubs or butt scratches.

Flash is very food motivated. He enjoys playing tug, enjoys fetch but enjoys playing keep-away with toys more than handing the toys over 🙂

Flash’s foster has been posting on her pages and you can check out his training journey with more pics & videos on C 2 Dog Training Facebook & Instagram pages.

Flash is being fostered in NJ.
