Our Dogs

Meet our wonderful
dogs for adoption!

Our dogs are in ECHO foster homes or are in transition and soon to be on their way to a foster home.

We do try to list them as soon as we can! Sometimes it takes a while to get to know the new arrivals, so please be patient with us:)

Our dogs for adoption are not first come, first served.  Although we do consider applications on file first, our goal is to find the home that is the best home for that particular dog.  Be patient!  Your perfect companion will come along!

If you would like to fill out an application for us to keep on file, click here.

Meet Valor

ECHO RESCUE pulled 5 month old Valor from a Maryland shelter. He was picked up as a stray and brought to BCAS.
Thanks to a wonderful foster offer from Kim, we were able to save him.
We knew he had some sort of injury that was causing rear end weakness.
But we were totally shocked by what the x-ray showed:

Valor had been shot!

His body is riddled with buck shot.
Who would do this to a 5 month old puppy!?
He was essentially shot and left on the streets to die. I will never understand people.

We need your help.
We know that money is tight for everyone. Everyone is struggling. But if you would consider making a donation towards Valor’s care, that would be greatly appreciated.

Valor Pupdate 9/14/2025:

Thank you to everyone who has sent donations!

Valor had the CT Scan yesterday morning and they could see one of the pellets pressing on or inside the spinal column. In the afternoon the neurologist did a myogram and could see that the pellet was in between number 9/10 vertebrates. They did surgery, but found it was embedded in his spinal cord. Since he does have some motor ability, she felt it was safer to leave it than risk damage pulling it out. She recommends PT so we will be working on setting that up.

He is recovering nicely, and is headed back to his foster. Take a look at Valor WALKING!

We have set up an amazon wish list to help Valor's amazing foster, Kim, with his care.

Valor Pupdate 9/17/2025:

Thank you so much for all of your generous support. Because of your kindness, we have covered Valor’s medical expenses and the remainder will go towards his physical therapy which will begin after his check up with the neurologist.

Thank you to everyone sending items from Valor’s wish list! He is feeling better and his puppy energy is back. His foster is trying to keep him calm. He is a good boy and goes outside to potty but he wants to go right back in:(

Follow-up with the neurologist is the end of next week.

Keep those good vibes coming!

Valor Pupdate 9/26/2025:

Valor had a great checkup with the neurologist today. 1 more week of kennel rest and then he can return to normal activities and begin physical therapy!

Thank you to everyone who has been rooting for him and sending gifts smile

He is getting stronger everyday!!

Valor Pupdate 12/1/2025:

Last week was his first appointment while on gabapentin (he has been getting 200mg twice a day) and it was amazing! He was moving like a very fluid hackney pony. He was strong and moving correctly on the underwater treadmill & increased his time/distance. Also, there were less "stagnant" areas during acupuncture & he was standing much more base narrow rather than splayed out. It was his best session yet.

Tonight's update - he has gone through another growth spurt and he was exceptionally hyper tonight. He is feeling very good but still gets uncomfortable/painful areas after each growth spurt. He was off the charts hyper, didn't want to be worked on at all, only wanted to play. The peanut butter as a distraction did not work at all tonight. They were absolute saints with him, stayed patient with him the entire time. They said he was doing great for a puppy his age. I was concerned that he was acting this way from frustration from being worked with while being in pain. The Dr assured me that while it was a combination of the discomfort caused by the growth spurt and his age, it was much more from his age and puppy stage that he is entering than from the discomfort.

Keep those good vibes coming!

Please Note:

Valor is not yet available for adoption

for giving Star a year of amazing care, security,
and above all, love.
