Radar

URGENT!

Radar is in need of a new foster or an adopter!

Here is an updated bio for Radar:

Poor Radar can’t catch a break 😞. She would love a foster to adopt home. Her current foster begins traveling for work soon and Radar needs to move by the 15th. She is spayed, about 25 pounds, up to date on shots. Here is what her current foster in LaPlata MD says:

Radar is a great dog. She enjoys hiking on a long line with her dog friends! She is easy in the house when left alone. She is just as happy to be on the couch next to a person just hanging out! Great in her kennel, loads right in and stays clean! She is easy to feed, no guarding issues, eats in her kennel along side all my dogs! She is great outside playing with other dogs! She is a jumper so I would recommend a taller fence she will jump baby gates.
Radar thinks the couch is hers, and she will guard it from other dogs. We are working on this. Radar is not a fan of the car and gets car sick.
She would enjoy a family who adores her playful side with a lot of love to give since she is also a snuggler!

Here is what her foster has to say about this special and unique girl:

Do you love the word Shenanigans?

Do the words Wild Rumpus, ballyhoo, hooligan and amok make you grin?

Tighten your shoes’ laces and hide your shoes - she herds them.

Do you want an Adventure Buddy with an off switch and a need to be a Velcro Lap Dog or shoulder parrot?

Do your big dogs need a play buddy?

May I introduce Radar!

If you've the yen to work with a joyful speed demon who absolutely LOVES to learn and will joyfully join any game you can teach, we've got your girl!

She's a sweet sensitive but dynamic girl who will be at the heart of every successful escapade - just like Radar was in MASH!

Her human should be an experienced positive coach/teacher of dogs. She WANTS to learn. She loves it. She is athletic as heck.

She can and will jump, climb fences, pony walls, baby gates and out windows.  I'm fairly sure if she stayed I'd eventually find her on the fridge if the motivation was there.

We're placing her not for her energy, but because she and my nasty fifteen year old terrier are incompatible.  I'm just too old to manage incompatible dogs any more.

She adores big playful guys and large medium mellow girls.

She's crate trained but not fond of it but must eat separately. She has shared food and toys here but she came in as the puppy in the litter who never got enough and until she feels secure, she can guard resources. She'll likely need time to get that safety and security back.

She hasn't had time to learn to travel well in the car. She gets car sick. That was going to be my next project.

She plays fast and wild, she's absolutely awesome in getting on objects and she's a natural on climbing objects.

Tables and walking beams. She gravitates to them. She's a natural leader.

Impulse control is ~ ummm ~ a current challenge.

But give her mind stuff to learn and enough exercise and she is also the best cuddle bug and bed buddy out there. Nice Velcro puppy. She has the softest chin fur, it's practically velvet.

Her crate blankets should be used, stuffed stuff won't stay that way. She still needs work on crated stress but she's been improving. Don't leave anything on or touching the crate, she can be creative.

Yes, she will find every shoe and either hide a pile of them somewhere good or put them in her crate.  Not usually doing much damage except laces and a tasty leather tab or two.

Radar is being fostered in Waldorf MD.
