Leidy is ready to find her forever home!
She is approximately 3 years old, spayed and up to date on her shots.
She takes time to warm up, but the wait is worth it!
She does prefer women over men and while she currently lives with multiple dogs, she would prefer to be the apple of your eye.
Here is what her fosters have to say about her...
When Leidy came to live with us she was super-timid around people. At the handoff from her last foster home, she hid under the car, petrified with fear about coming into our car.
But boy, have things changed!
But before I get into telling you about what a goofy and affectionate border collie Leidy is, I need to get something off my chest.
Leidy is NOT what we have been calling her. She's gone through several nicknames. But at this point we mostly we call her DAVE! (All caps with exclamation point).
Anyway, she’s really warmed up to us, and loves people in general. It just takes her some time to learn to trust people,
But then? She’s all in.
She loves to go under the covers and snuggle up. She comes up and rests her head on you and squints with pure love.
Now, I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you that things aren’t all sunshine and rainbows in Dave’s (Leidy’s) world.
She came to us with a hip problem and has now successfully had surgery and gone through rehab.
OMG - you need to see this hilarious dog, happily walking along on an underwater treadmill like she is training to be an astronaut 🧑🚀
She still tries hard not to put too much weight on her one leg that’s effected, but she's made really good progress and it doesn't slow her down.
Things we don’t like all that much about Dave aka Leidy:
☹️ We call her “Salty Dave” because she gets a little grumpy. In a cute way, but still. She can get a little grumpy.
☹️ She will likely steal your socks and carry them away.
Things we like an awful lot about Dave:
😇 What an affectionate doggo.
😇 She’s really the class clown. She’s got a sense of humor and will 100% make you laugh.
😇She’s got gorgeous eyes, and is so happy to see you!
Leidy is being fostered in Red Bank NJ.
