JACK

Jack has been returned through no fault of his own!

This boy needs a loving home!

We are looking for a foster or foster to adopt
for Jack.

Here is the latest on Jack:

Jack is available for adoption!! (or foster to adopt)
Jack is an 8 year old neutered border collie. He was fostered by Debbie & Bill for several months, and then adopted out by ECHO and has spent the last 5 years in a home with his family. Unfortunately, he was set up to fail on multiple occasions due to his family not following the advice and training that was given to them. He’s been staying with a trainer for the past month. (Thank you Cory!!) In that time, he’s decompressed and worked on engaging and disengaging with his surroundings. He would do best with someone who has border collie experience and doesn’t want to start from scratch. He needs mental stimulation but he’s not high energy. He wants to do tricks and play fetch and if you do that, he doesn’t care what’s going on around him. He can relax in the house and though he shouldn't be placed in a home with cats, and other dogs would be some work, he doesn’t have an issue disengaging from them in the trainer’s house or public. However, he cannot go to a home with chickens, livestock, small dogs or small children.
He’s crate trained, house trained and has a good off switch. He’d definitely love to do tricks and go for hikes or interesting walks, and he wants to be asked to do things but those things don’t have to be complex or difficult. He’s a really fun, cool dog who has just had some really bad luck. Jack needs someone who’s going to set rules and guidelines and follow through with his training.

Here is our earlier post about Jack...

This is a very difficult post to make. After being with his family for approximately five years, Jack is coming back to ECHO RESCUE. Why? Because he has been set up to fail on multiple occasions. How does something like that happen? By not following the advice and training that the Rescue group gave to the family.
We have a very limited window to place Jack. He needs to be moved from his home in New Hampshire ASAP. He requires a very specific home with people who can understand, manage and train a border collie. Essentially, Jack is being given one last chance and we need to make this chance count.
This means: no cats, no chickens, no livestock, no small dogs and no small children. He has intense prey drive.
Jack needs someone who’s going to set rules and guidelines and follow through with his training.
He is approximately 8 years old and about 50 pounds.

If you can foster/adopt, please email us at echorescue@yahoo.com. Click the buttons below for the foster or adoption applications.

If you are serious with your intention to help Jack, please fill out an application and  email us. We cannot waste time. Jack needs us.

Kind regards,
Sean O’Scanlon & Debbie Lazaro-Sweeney
