Good Boy!

Scout

We are now accepting applications for Scout!!
He is neutered, about 5 years old and 42 pounds. Here is what his foster had to say!!
To sum it up: Scout is a certified, all-around good boy!!
>> The Alone Time Drama
We’ve noticed a touch of separation anxiety. The good news? He is not a destructive interior decorator—your drywall is safe! The bad news? He turns into a tiny bit of a drama king when left alone. He tends to bark, whine, and paces instead of settling down, even when left with the best puzzle toys and enrichment snacks.
>> Kids & The "Fast and Furious" Rule
My biggest note comes from his interaction with my 9-year-old family member. Inside the house, if the kiddo walked across the room too quickly, Scout would launch himself forward and bark like crazy. It’s hard to tell if he’s trying to herd them or just wants an intense game of tag, but given his size, it’s a bit risky for little ones.
• The Plot Twist: Outside, he couldn't care less! Once they stepped into the yard, Scout completely lost interest.
• The Verdict: He’d probably do best in a home with older kids, or with strict management and supervision around younger ones.

>> Doggy Play Dates: The Tooth-Yeller
Scout is fabulous with other animals and would do great with or without a canine sibling! However, if he does get a dog roommate, they need to be highly tolerant but playful.
• Once Scout gets comfy, his inner herding dog comes out and his play style gets a bit rude.
• He is also a "tooth-yeller"—he loves to flash his pearly whites during play for absolutely no reason, which can look a bit terrifying but is totally harmless!
• Luckily, he takes corrections from other dogs beautifully.
• Resource Sharing: Zero issues with treats! He does, however, like to steal toys right out of other dogs' mouths. Classic sibling behavior, so supervision is a safe bet!
>> The Feline Verdict
As for cats, he’s actually done great! But he definitely needs an intro period and strict supervision.
• If a cat runs past, Scout’s intrusive thoughts win and he will chase them. Thankfully, my resident cats are used to big dogs, aren't bothered, and have no problem putting him in his place.
• Prey Drive: Inside the house, it's totally manageable. Outside? We haven't tested him with neighborhood cats or critters yet, so proceed with caution.

Scout is VERY affectionate.
Your personal space is his personal space.
He knows his name and responds to it pretty well so his recall is pretty good!
He likes to chew/ nibble on Nyla bones, and so gently and every once in a while will tear holes in softer toys, he likes to nibble at them!
He's a top quality velcro dog!
Scout is being fostered in the Baltimore MD area.
