Meet Roxie!
Roxie is a 2 year old spayed Border Collie. She sadly found herself in a shelter with two other dogs when her owner passed away. The other two dogs were soon adopted, but Roxie needed some time to adjust and decompress. She is getting that time with her wonderful foster mom, Regina.
Here is Regina’s update on Roxie’s progress:
Roxie is a snuggle bug at heart and if you are sitting down in range, her preferred position is directly on top of you. She is very clear when she wants to be petted, reaching out with a paw and pulling your hand close to her. Amusingly, she uses the same technique to get the attention of our resident dog as well. After she gets comfortable, she is also a total goofball. She loves playing wrestling/bitey face games with our dog and also enjoys light wrestling with humans as well. She has great awareness of her claws and teeth, never going too far with people while playing rough. Although most toys have earned nothing more than a passing glance, she has come alive chasing a small “unstuffed” squeaky raccoon toy that we have attached to an old leash. We pull the leash around and let her prey drive push her onwards, stalking and catching the little toy.
